Liam Barnes grew up on the Connecticut shoreline; as a child he created adventures for himself and his mates among the local marshes, ponds and forests. An avid reader, he was temporarily banned from the local library’s grown up fiction section at age 12, over concerns that college level Greek Mythology and Mary Renault’s historical fiction was too advanced for Liam. He worked as a Structural Steelworker at the Electric Boat Submarine Shipyard while finishing high school at night. By the age of 30 he’d held 24 different full-time jobs, such as factory worker, car salesman, draftsman/designer, door-to-door copier sales, newspaper circulation manager. He then began a long term career in the HW/SW industry for military and commercial clients.
Now he writes Fantasy and Science Fiction novels and stories. He currently lives in Northern CA with his family and terrier mix pooch. When he’s not writing, he can be found hiking, kayaking, fishing, listening to live R&B, and stopping at every tag sale in sight.
